squeeks when the pad touches the rim??? when i pull the brake lever hard the pad squeeks when it touches the rim and there is like little tiny bits of the pad deposited on the rim tht wipe off any ideas around this?

The brake squeal is probably caused by the brake pads not being properly "toed in". The front part of the pad must touch 1-2mm before the back part. If you bought this bike at a bike shop they will be happy to make this slight adjustment...free. The bits on the rim are the pad wearing in, though there really shouldn't be much. Again, the shop will check this out for you. You can wipe off this sediment, using rubbing alcohol on a rag if necessary.
