Thread: how wide of a rear tire can i put on the stock rim of my Yamaha 650 v-star 2002?

I am looking for the widest tire I can put on my bike, with out buying a wide tire kit.

The widest tire you can put on the 650 is a 200 Metzler. It will rub the swingarm a bit. Also they do not make a wide tire kit for the 650 for under $5000, and with that you will have to send the entire bike to Germany to have it done. That's on you, but I only paid $5000 for mine brand new, I am not really interested in paying another $5000 to be able to put a 210 on it... Check out the 650 forum on Delphi for help with the bike.
