How to i fix a memory card error for a BlackBerry Bold ?

So my BB came with a 2GB memory. And i took my mother's digital camera memory which was 6GB, and used it for my blackberry. one day it sais that i have a memory card error. and when i put the adaptor in the computer, its as if there is no memory card. how can i format it if it doesnt even appear on the computer
