if I hit a pot hole. I seen a miata in a parking lot today that had 17" rims. The tires were 215-40-ZR-17. I did not see the guy driving it or I would have asked him or her.... It looked great.

Ask a tire shop they know. Just keep in mind most all the time when you go with huge wheels and tires the cars handling pays a huge price. The ride will be bumpy and squirly..
