Thread: does the blackberry 8900 require a data plan to receive/send picture messages?

i'm planning to get a blackberry 8900 and i was wondering if the data plan is required to send and recieve picture messages. i have the motorola cliq and just found out i needed a data plan to send and receive picture messages/mms. can someone please help me find out if its the same for a blackberry 8900.
