converting mp3 files to to alx files for my blackberry pearl?

    i have the t-mobile blackberry pearl 8100

i went on crackberry.com and downloaded a ringtone. and when i want to add it to my blackberry, the song file won't go in my phone because it says it has to be .alx or .ali .. is there a converter i can use?

or is there a different way to add ringtones? i read online that it doesn't need to be converted but i'm confused and stuck lol

does anyone know what to do?
