Can a 96 ford explorer wheel rims be used on a 2008 ford escape?

I have a set of 235/75r15 tires and aloy rims from a 96 Ford Explorer sport. can these rims be used on a new 2008 Escape. I would like to use them for winter tires so I just change rims rather than have to get the tires changed each season.
