BLACKBERRY PICKING .......... a poem by Seamus Heaney Homework help please?

We are trying to support our daughter with this piece of coursework and oif course as parents we have older views and can analise on a deeper level. This that jump out at us our daughter is just not seeing. She says that if she breaks this down in our way Teacher will think this is not her work but surely we are supposed to be helpful and offer comparisons ? Please help with a different viewpoint she may be able to accept. THANKS in advance

she talks about Stanza's and has to use similies and metaphors.

Why can't she discuss this with you, put down both of your viewpoints, combined, and then tell her teacher she discussed it with older relatives to give a broader insight.

I don't see any reason to hide the fact, it shows a maturing mind and attitude.

ive read that poem we had it at the end of our yr 7 exam 4 english. its not that hard to analyse u dont need 2 be in the same generation to analyse a piece of poetry bcoz the poem still means the same and anyway everyone has different views on it so i think its wrong if urre daughter thinks that way but it would be equally wrong if u say that ure view is correct bcoz there isnt a rite or wrong view point in analysing poetry
