On the Verizon Blackberry Pearl, can you put a picture that you've taken on the phone as your background?

Also, what cool features does the phone have?
(it says it on the verizon website, but I don't understand the way they word it haha)

Can you use AIM on that phone?
Can you use internet on it? And if you can, is it extrememly slow?
