Why do US automakers (chevy, ford, chrysler) have to be bailed out? Why

can't we just let them close shop? Honda and Toyota and Mitsubishi make many of their cars here in the US. If Chevy, Ford, and Chrysler close/go bankrupt, people will be forced to by a foreign car made in the US. The foreign companies will pick up the slack and will need more employees to take on the additional work. Why pay billions of dollars to keep these companies open when really, everything would work itself out if they close!

Its no different than a mom-and-pop business. If one closes, the surrounding business' take on more business.

    seems a no brainer.

same thing goes for the banks or any other company. let' em fail!

Because they will be more people out of work because the other companys wouldn't hire as many people as the American company's would lose& why should we send money over seas when our economy needs it.
