African American Slaves were freed and given citizenship rights as laid out in his Emancipation Proclamation (including the right to vote).
The Battle of Gettysburg took place in Pennslyvania and Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address to honor those who died.
He was shot and killed 5 days after the Union won the civil war.
