Thread: what did Abraham Lincoln do for Illinois?

I doing a project on Abraham Lincoln and i just want to know what important thing or what good thing did he do for the state of Illinois ?

Abraham Lincoln kept the Union together. The state of Illinois and the nation of the United States would not have existed if it weren't for his leadership. He was determined to keep all of the states together even if the southern states wanted to succeed.
