I went off-roading with my friend in her Jeep Wrangler yesterday- just a little narrow trail, mostly just some mud and puddles... Well there was one puddle that she mis-judged and we ended up hydroplaning over it, and it made her all paranoid... She was worried about her engine getting water in it- We checked after we were done, and her car was good and muddy and her engine was pretty dry except for a couple areas aound the edges where it had gotten a little spray of water.

I was just curious though.. what happens when water gets on or in the engine?
and, was she being overly paranoid? i insisted that she had a car made to do this type of stuff, but the truth is that i don't know a thing about it

BTW, this is a picture of her jeep so you can see the lift/tire size...
