I recently purchased a 78 trans am with the stock 400 motor. I've been looking for parts for it and some are for Pontiac 400 and some are for Chevy 400. Are these the same? I know they r both GM but i just want 2 make sure before i buy a 0 crankshaft along with many other parts. Also does any know of any good performance website for this car?

Are Pontiac 400 motor parts interchangeable with Chevy 400 parts?

no. at that time gm cars had make specific parts. some things are interchangeable such as starters and alternators but internal engine parts are not.
