Thread: Need help with downfiring subwoofer enclosure for Chevy Tahoe?

I want to build a custom sub enclosure to put under the back seats of my 05 chevy tahoe for 10 inch subs. I am putting them under the seats because i like to have them hidden from view and i use the back space alot and don't want to take up room with a big box. I have a few questions about this, so any help is appreciated.

My original plans are to build a downfiring box. Will this sound better than an upward facing box?

If I go with a downfiring box, how much clearance should there be between the box and the floor?

I'm going to be working with a small amount of space so what subs can you recommend that will sound good with a small amount of volume in the box?
