My 98 Ford Contour leaks transmission fluid.?

    I just bought a Ford Contour. 2.0L,16 valve,4 door,auto.
There is transmission fluid leaking from the back of the transmission, right below the filler tube. When it is cold it only leaks a little, but when you drive it for an hour or so it spews out fluid in large puddles. I tried to see if I could find exactly where the problem is, but I am no mechanic. The light inside has not come on yet.

I checked the fluid when I first got the car and it was a little over full, but not much. Today it was low.

It could be to full have you checked the level? Seal could be out crack in case lots of things I would start by checking the level.

Don't wait for the light - it will be too late then.

You've got a blown seal somewhere and need to get it into the shop PRONTO.
