Thread: how to fix the convertible top on a 97 Chrysler convertible?

every time i try using the top, it makes a weird whirring sound and it doesn't lift up. how do i fix it?

You probably have leaking fluid lines or top cylinders. They will need to be replaced. It may cost anywhere from 500 to $1000 dollars depending on what needs to be replaced. Get a friend, raise the top by hand and leave it in place until repaired. Good luck.
