    how do you destroke a chevrolet motor?

    i just heard of motors being able to be destroked what does that meen?

    a different crankshaft than is oem with motor

    Not always true about what the guy above said.You can take like a 327 block and a 283 crank im not sure what rods and make a 302.Stroker motors are good power and torque makers.You can take a 350 and take a 400 small block crank with 5.7 rods and make a 383 stroke they make good power with the rite combo of heads,intake and cam like 400-450 hp.

    usually u use a different crank and rods.....

    usually it is done on supercharged or turboed or high nitrous model engines.......so that there is room for the power adder to work...so that the engine doesn't blow apart....
