I'd heard that Microsoft had obtained permission to continue producing HD-DVDs. It was just in the movie market that HD-DVD had crashed and burned.
Far as I know, you'll continue to get games for your 360, just not play movies. If you're wanting to go a BluRay, might as well shell out 300 wingwangs and get a PS3.
