Yes, drawing is helpful and basic math skills are a must. But with new computer programs you don't need to be a great drawer. Taking classes for fashion design or sew of any kind would be a great place to start. Working at place like Joannes fabrics so you can learn about the different fabrics will also be helpful. There are many fashion design schools out there that teach you everything you need to know but creativity. If your creative you will go much farther. When you design something, make sure you have a picture to put in your portfolio that you can show prospective schools that your interested in applying for,.
