Xbox 360 not compatible with DVD recorder?

Ok,
I have a Panasonic DMR-ES15 DVD recorder, Which records Ps2, GameCube, Ps1, Xbox (original), Snes...
Just fine using Yellow, Red and White (Composite) cables.. But when I plug my Xbox 360 into it, also using the Component cables, the screen becomes distorted and the bottom 2 inches of the screen have a static effect.

The sound works fine, and it will record the screen.. but with the distortion...

I have no idea why this is? I have played around with the setting on both the Dvd recorder as well as the Xbox, but it makes no difference.
I think the Nintendo Wii also sufferers from these effects.

Any Ideas? Thnx

What I THINK is happening (just brainstorming) is that the HDCP on the systems make it so you cannot record on that console. It's copywrite protection which is why it probably looks distorted.
