...are talking to them? Have you ever met someone who likes to make a big fuss over everything? They automatically assume you are being rude, just because you don't want to make eye conTtact with them. Whether I want to make eye contact or not, it's my choice. Why do they think they have the right to tell me what to do? They expect you to act in a certian way. You must obey and follow everything they tell you to do. They think their opinion matter the most. They think they have authority over you just because they are older then you.

I don't consider it rude at all. In many cultures it is actually rude to make direct eye contact. It's up to you if you want to make eye contact or not.

No, I wouldn't. I try to maintain eye contact with everyone when speaking. I understand that it is considered polite to make eye contact when you are addressing someone but I do understand that just because it's polite doesn't mean that everyone is comfortable doing it.
