Why won't my T-Mobile LG Optimus send or open photo text?

I recently got an LG Optimus works great except for the fact I can't send or open text messages
with photo attachments. When I send I photo it sends but the message only says "sending..." & it
never sends. When I receive a photo I click download & the image never downloads.

Any help is appreciated!
