I tried to replace stock stereo in my 96 camry.. Downloaded color scheme and hooked up.. but seemed to smoke and power/sound was cutting in and out.. so I reconnected the stock stereo.. I reconnected all wires back together, matching all colors/wires as I went. Put back in and turned on and same thing.. the sound just keeps cutting in and out repeatedly every second. Time/ Power seems steady so I doubt a short.. however I don't know if a fuse or relay would be responsible. I've a lot of experience with stereo install but never seen this happen before. What is going on here.. any good ideas or help would be great!
