I have a 99 saturn sl2, and i just replaced the power steering pump because the old one was going bad. the new one was working just fine at first but then it started to whine when i would make a turn. this only seems to happen once the car has been running for awhile. ive looked around online and the only thing i can find is that i should use automatic transmission fluid instead of power steering fluid. any other suggesetions?

did you replace the belt at the same time? it could be the belt slipping, did you check the specs for the fluid some power steering uses mineral oil not regular fluid or auto trans fluid, are you sure it isn't the idler wheel that tensions the belt?

it's probably just a bad power steering pump. take it back to wherever you got it replaced at
