Why do so many religions insist that unless you are like them you burn in hell?

47 major religions but we are supposed to play spiritual lotto in that "You can't get to heaven if you don't play!" How can any one person say they know for a fact their religion is the "correct one" when nobody here has died and gone to heaven to report back?

We see it all the time....."what if you're wrong?" which is easily applied the other way around. WHAT IF YOUUUUUU are WRONG? More people are muslims. So wouldn't it make sense that God is really Allah? If you subscribe to the "most people will not reach heaven" then wouldn't that mean God sits next to Joseph Smith and is a mormon?

Do you really think it makes sense that a God would sit there and judge you to say "I know you lived your entire life helping people, feeding the homeless, praying, and never killed, stole, or committed adultery, but you didn't pray like this, so BURN BABY! BURN!"??? Wouldn't that make him a very immature and prejudicial God since he would know religion is set by their parental traditions?

Doesn't this sound more like the writing of men to say "if you don't join our church you drown, while being burned, and at the same time being confined and surrounded by snakes after falling" playing on all the major phobias? Since being thrown down into a fire pit is what we do when we burn a felon in the electric chair for murder, does it really make sense that a God would follow man's torture methods for the crime of....being born into a family with a different religion?

And......if someone came running into your house claiming that God spoke to them via a burning bush would you honestly believe them, or think they need to seek professional help? During a time where the mentally challenged were not treated, nor was it even known that there are things like skitzo's and mentally deranged people in this world, how do you know for sure your prophets were not insane? What would be there difference?

Finally, if there are no other Gods, why would the Bible, Koran, Book of Mormon, etc. mention not to pray to other God'S as in plural? If there is only one, why the need to say don't pray to any other?
