...the Young Jedi Knights books? I'm trying to remember the name of a sci fi book I read at least 10 years ago. I discovered it because a teaser chapter of it was printed in the back of one of the later Young Jedi Knights books.
I don't remember much about it, but I know it followed a reptilian princess, and her non-reptile pet/slave. In the reptile culture, social status was determined by color, and it seems like the princess was red or gold. I remember that the king married some hot young reptile lady because she blushed purple, which apparently was really rare and pretty or something. Also, the princess and the slave ran away, and I think the story was from the slave kid's perspective.
