What is the best value 37" or 40" LCD television for sale in UK today? We can afford up to £650. It will be mainly used for freeview & watching DVD's.

You won't go far wrong with one of these

40" is the optimum size for a Full HD TV and will give you the best possible picture.

But, if you're not getting HD, then i would opt for the 37" since you can get a better one for the same price by saving on those 3 inches.

In terms of best value, you're looking at Samsung and LG televisions.
Samsungs are the cheapest brilliant TVs, and LG make the best cheap TVs.

If that makes sense.
