recently we got into a car accident, which was not our fault. the car was in MINT condition, it was a 1998 acura 1.6EL. (it looked brand new), barely driven,and had less than 100 000km. the appraiser said that the car had $6000 damage (hood and bumper damage) which will be written off as total loss, and that we'll get a bit more than $3000. we were discouraged from this news because it has sentimental value. and its definitely not worth what they say. seriously, how can we buy a car as good as that one with $3000? we are planning to take the car back and fix it ourselves. we have no idea what to do at this point, all we know is that its not fair. any suggestions to get what its worth or save our car? thanks.
