I bought a Panasonic Viera 42" 1080p LCD TV a while back, I used to watch DVDs on my computer but I figured I'd get a DVD player w/ the bigger TV and all.

Anyhow I bought a Philips 1080p upconvert DVD player and an HDMI cable. SO far the picture looks great, I just put in Pulp Fiction to test it out and the kids are watching Monsters Inc and it looks really awesome. But my question is since there are many resolution settings on the DVD player which one should I use? The DVD player has an auto setting and when I set it to auto and then checked the resolution display on my TV it was coming in at 1080p. So should I have it set to 1080p? I though only Blu Ray could display 1080p? I just want to make sure I have it set at the right resolution for my TV. I just got this tonight and I want to get it set up so I don't have to fuss with it again.

Thanks!
