All three of the major indexes (^DJI, ^GSPC, ^XIC) jumped after the April employment report showed the US added 175,000 jobs last month, far fewer than the 240,000 economists had been predicting. The unemployment rate ticked higher to 3.9% and average hourly earnings rose less than expected. Investors are also still digesting earnings from the likes of Apple (AAPL), Cloudflare (NET), Block (SQ), and Expedia Group (EXPE). Other trending tickers on Yahoo Finance include Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.TO), Amgen (AMGN), and GameStop (GME).
