It's going for $3,000 but the guy can let it go for $2,700.

It has 57,000 miles on it and the problem is that it needs a new tranny. It jerks at shifts, and i either needs to be re-built or replaced which would cost around $6,000 to rebuild it. And a used one costs around $2,000 plus $3000 labor too.

What do you guys think? I really like the condition of the car, but something makes me wonder that if something major like the transmition goes, there will be other problems?

I would jump on that so fast... it's just a transmission. There's nothing magic about a Mercedes transmission. It's a transmission.

You can easily get one rebuilt at a reputable shop for under $3,000... tops...

Holy mackerel... a MB 600 for under $20,000? You've got a gold mine there...

and also a lot of headaches... there's NOTHING cheap on that car... they cost a fortune to maintain... but OH BOY... what a ride...
