The Government is tearing itself apart over immigration. Yesterday evening, as the Home Secretary was making a statement to the House of Commons on the emergency legislation to deem Rwanda a safe destination, his deputy at the Home Office, Robert Jenrick, was resigning. The Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Draft Bill is an attempt to revive the flagship Rwanda asylum policy, following its defeat at the Supreme Court last month.
