England have called up the 18-year-old Leicestershire leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed to the squad for the second Ashes Test at Lord’s which starts on Wednesday. Ahmed, who made his Test debut in Karachi last winter and took seven wickets in the match, has been brought into the squad as cover for Moeen Ali, whose first red-ball match for almost two years resulted in him blistering his index finger while repeatedly ripping it against the proud seam of the Dukes ball.
