I'm really good at sprints especially 100m distance. Is it possible to be good at sprinting & at the same time at long distance races (7k cross country etc)?? I'm really curious about this as I heard people who can run sprints can't run long distances (or vice versa). Plus, kids (including me) at my school who are really good at sprinting but really suck at cross country! Yup, I suck at cross country!! BUT I have a friend who can do BOTH! She always win 1st place at cross country AND sprints!! She USED to always win 1st place at sprints because now that I came in, I'm the one who win 1st place! I'm better than her at sprinting. But she's GOOD for an average person!

The question is is it possible to be good at both sprint & long distance races? Please explain why??

It is possible, but it would depend on your level of fitness. You may be fast and able to sprint 100m, but do you think you could make 7km?
