Is a used 2009 Nissan Versa (hatchback) with 50k miles on it worth $10,000?

I'm getting a job and I need my own car to drive. My uncle is buying a new car and just informed us that he's selling his previous car, a 2009 Nissan Versa. He didn't tell me much else on the phone except that if he does sell it, it'll be for around $10k. And that it has 50k miles on it.
Also, does the Nissan Versa get good mileage? Thanks.
