Internal or external CD/DVD RW for desktop?

I am having a tough time finding any internal CD/DVD RW on the market... most of them are external...and very few options on internal drives

To be honest, I don't even know what to go for... as I rarely find myself handling disc or DVDs however... I find them handy as I will need it to install Windows 7 or 8) other programs and more often games ^_^ I mostly download them... but some I get from a retailer.. so.....

Any suggestions on which one I should go for a desktop?

I have an external CD/DVD RW USB drive.
I find it very useful since I can plug it into any desktop or laptop I want.
Very good for mobility. I would say you are better ahead with an external one
