"the King" that Isaiah saw here? ((( Dear answerer,)) here is the full context for you well advised consideration:
"In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord (heb. "Adonoy") sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts." Isaiah 6:1-5
Chirst Jesus, the Truth, and Only Begotten of God, cleary and knowingly says, "No man has seen God at ANY TIME. (John 1:18)....(which, obviously, includes the year that King Uzziah died).... So what are we to learn from this amazing truth, and who then was the "Lord" (Adonoy), "the King, the LORD of hosts", which Isaiah saw with his own eyes and became undone at the holy sight of Him?
When Isaiah says, "....mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts."...was he presuming that it was "Yehovah Tsaba" (the LORD of hosts) since "No man has seen God at any time"?
To make this question even more intriguing, I have been wondering why the Apostle said that "the god of this world has blinded the minds of them that beleive not"....while Jesus clearly said:
"....in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which says, By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."
Amazingly, Jesus is quoting directly from this afore mentioned encounter with the Lord, the King, who instructed Isaiah to "...Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed".
Was Jesus likewise fulfilling this same commision by speaking in "parables" to the multitudes....
For...."the disciples came, and said unto him, Why do you speak unto them in parables?
He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever has not, from him shall be taken away even that he has.
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which says, 'By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive:'
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
BUT BLESSED ARE YOUR EYES, FOR THEY SEE: AND YOUR EARS FOR THEY HEAR."
Mat 13:15
So then.... what makes a people's heart wax gross, and their ears become dull of hearing, and their eyes become closed?....and who is the King, which Isaiah saw with his eyes, which was also comissioning him to "make the heart of this people fat, that seeing, they shall not see, and hearing, they shall not hear?
This question is asked desiring to understand why the Apostle said "the god of this world has blinded the minds of them that believe not", lest they should believe the glorious gospel and be saved!
"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them". 2Cor 4:3-4
Dearly beloved, these questions are asked in great expectation that the people of this world would receive "the love of the truth", lest the God of Truth, "should send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie"..., as seen here:
"... with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:"
2 Thess. 2:10-11
