Einstein's Riddle!
There are 5 houses in 5 different colors. In each house lives a person with a different nationality. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage.
The question is: Who owns the fish?

Hints:

The Brit lives in the red house.
The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
The Dane drinks tea.
The green house is on the left of the white house.
The green homeowner drinks coffee.
The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
The man living in the center house drinks milk.
The Norwegian lives in the first house.
The man who smokes Blend lives next to the one who keeps cats.
The man who keeps the horse lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
The owner who smokes Bluemaster drinks beer.
The German smokes prince.
The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
The man who smokes Blend has a neighbor who drinks water.

The answer is the German but how do you get this answer?

There are no tricks or word play. The riddle is pure logic. Start off with a 5 by 5 grid then start breaking down each hint one by one with the process of elimination by comparing it with the other hints. As you go the hints will be completely eliminated and will no longer need to be used, when I figured that part out it helped me to solve it. There is no easy way, but since you already know that the German keeps the fish you have an extra hint. To be honest it took me 3 days to solve it, but then again I'm not that smart.

man, i did this about a year ago and it was a very good waste of my afternoon. but its easiest if you make a chart like in excel then fill in the givens and then solve it by elimination for what you can. at some points you may have to guess and test.

or ill just google the answer
