...is not recognizing the player.? I recently bought a USB 2.0 Cd/DVD player for my IMac 21" that does not come with a CD player. I am in need of installing software on my IMac that is on CD only so getting this to work is a must for me. The CD player does not show up on my hard drive. Am I missing drivers or did I buy a Cd player that is not going to work with a IMac? The IMac is running USB 3.0 so I don't think that is my problem. Any ideas would be appreciated.
I bought a USB 2.0 Slim external DVD / CD RW combo drive writer from Amazon. No brand name on it. Came with a very limited user manual, the only thing it says is for installing is that I can go to microsoft.com for drivers. Does Apple support "plug and play" which is what this device appears to be.
