How do I change the output video codec to DivX when burning to a CD?

I'm trying to burn some .avi video files onto a CD-R, but my PS3 can't read the disc because the files don't have the DivX codec. How do I change the output codec and what program(s) will let me do this? Thanks.

don't worry, convert avi video into Divx files by iMacsoft Video Converter, http://www.imacsoft.com/video-converter.html.

Then burn the divx files into DVD-R and play on your ps3, or if you wanna put avi files into ps3, i deem you should convert avi video into ps3 mp4 files, it is so safe.
