If you've ever wanted to own a piece of the world-famous San Diego Chicken, here's your chance.
According to the folks over at Blowout Buzz, the Chicken will have a strong but unique presence*in*Panini America’s 2016 Donruss baseball card series, including a select amount of memorabilia*cards and*autographed memorabilia*cards that will feature an embedded piece of a game-worn Chicken costume.*

The man behind the Chicken, Ted Giannoulas, recently sent one of his costumes to Panini America for a complete and total dissection. You can witness that process and all of the Chicken's pained reactions in the video above.*Those pieces will make up 234 different cards and will be broken down into six different categories. *
The cards hit the market on Wednesday, and one piece of the Chicken is already up for bid on eBay. It gives you an idea of what to expect and what these truly rare cards will be valued at.*
The story itself is sure to ruffle a few feathers. Especially at a time when we're still sorting out the Hank conspiracy theories and coming to grips with the demise of Yoenis Cespedes' award-winning pig. It has been a tough and somewhat strange week for animals connected to baseball figures, but*we assure you Donruss only seeks to honor the Chicken's legacy.*
In fact, this series was created as a nod to the Chicken's "rookie card" in 1982. He was also featured in the 1983 and 1984 series, which would probably be considered his prime years. *
The San Diego Chicken has made a major impact on the sports landscape since being brought to life by Giannoulas in 1974.*He started out representing the San Diego Padres, but has since visted major and minor league ballparks all over the country, drawing crowds in the thousands wherever he appears.
More importantly than that though, he's made millions of people smile, and at least 234 more smiles are sure to follow.**
If there was ever a more deserving mascot, we don't know who or what it would be.*
