Determine the magnitude and direction of the force on an electron traveling 3.73 E6 m/s horizontally to the west in a vertically upward magnetic field of strength 1.10 T.
No idea how to solve this problem or this one:
A 1.2 m length of wire carrying 5.7 A of current is oriented horizontally. At that point on the Earth's surface, the dip angle of the Earth's magnetic field makes an angle of 40° to the wire. Estimate the magnetic force on the wire due to the Earth's magnetic field of 5.5 10-5 T at this point.
