Does anyone know how I can set my computer to Play sound in Mono rather that Stereo?

One of my two speakers is broken so now i only get sound from one speaker, and in a lot of cases this means that i only get half of the song when I play music. Anyone know how i can set my computer to output all sound in Mono. I've tried sliding all of the balance's in volume control to one side, but no luck

Dude! Just get a new set of speakers! They are laying around everywhere - check a garage sale.

I have a similar problem. Only my left speaker works in my notebook computer. I'm often not at home and I don't want to carry speakers around with me. How can i just make everything from the right speaker also play into the left? Convert my entire audio output from stereo to mono.
