This movie is either fromthe 90's or 80's, I saw it as a kid and it involved a man creating a machine (which greatly resembled HAL 9000 from Space Odyssey) except that this one was female. In the movie he kept the machine in his home and gave it a hand to move about the house, it eventually falls in love with its creator. In the end she/it tries to kill the guy's girlfriend. Does anyone know what movie I'm talking about? I saw it so long ago I can't remember what it was called!
