Car stereo help. (connecting without AUX port)?

ok, so i want to plug my ipod into my car stereo but i dont have an AUX port. i thought this would mean that i would have to buy a new stereo staight out but i found a couple of videos showing another way to do this. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKCBA0M1ZGg&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PL4E6ABEE3FC3C3FF9) i followed these steps and my stereo does have the two audio plugs that his have but mine are labled "Audio Out" and i was just wondering if anyone knew if doing thsi was still possible and if so could you please explain in more detail, if not an alternative way without buying a new stereo would be good.

Just buy one of those ipod radio adapters... you might mess up your stereo doing this...
