I am buying a new gaming system and cant decide on the graphics card(as usual). People are saying that for a multi screen gamer the nvidia geforce gtx titan is better than the 690 as it has more vram. But then the ares II has the same amount of vram as the titan(6gb ie), should it not then be preferable for raw performance?or is the titan a better performer for games(on high to ultra settings,SINGLE CARD) than the ares II?i dunno im all confused...

The Ares II is a dual-GPU card that's much more powerful than a Titan. But the Ares II also much more expensive than a Titan, so you'd have to compare apples to apples, such as a PAIR of Titans.

The Ares II even beats other dual-GPU cards like the Radeon HD 7990 and GeForce GTX 690 in most titles, though not all. For example in Skyrim the GTX 690 still outperforms the Ares II.

For multi-screen gaming, multiple Titans are better than a single GTX 690 or single Radeon HD 7990 because the SLI scaling is much better. But the Titan is still only a single GPU card, it's not the most powerful card from Nvidia- the GTX 690 is.

Here's the bottom line on the Titan:

And here's the lowdown on other high-end cards (excluding the Ares II, which is really a better cooled version of the 7970X2)

The ares ll is a dual gpu graphic card indeed! but by benchmark checks the dual gpus drop off as being the top graphic cards , single gpu graphics are the top graphic cards on benchmark and the titan ranks as one of the top graphic card , the gtx 680 is the other much cheaper sli gtx 680 than one titan which runs as close as 1000 dollars

The ARES II is better but it's a dual GPU card, so it could be slightly problematic in places.
