I really love these kind of animes! The type where the guy is really popular and cool but he only cares for this one girl and always ends up saving her. Also, the girl is very strong and independent. It would be great if it was school life too. I don't like supernatural ones to be honest.

You must watch Skip Beat! The drawings are very similar and so are the characters! You'll love it.
I'm not sure if you're into slice of life but Clannad and Angel Beats are pretty good.
And you must know Vampire Knight or Chobits ^-^ of course, Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura.
