ANAHEIM – Honda Center had a space-like feel to it Wednesday night when the Anaheim Ducks hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Fans dressed in costumes from the "Star Wars" series as the Ducks paid homage to the popular franchise with their own “Star Wars Night.” This came just a few weeks before the opening of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
First there was this video.
Some members of the Ducks entertainment team dressed as Princess Leia.
That would be former Mighty Ducks goaltender Guy Hebert and broadcaster Kent French with R2-D2 in the below photo.
“I’m a 'Star Wars' fan, I grew up with it,” Ducks forward Shawn Horcoff said. “I’m looking forward to (The Force Awakens). My kids are 10 and eight. I’ve made them watch all the old ones so they’re up to date and they’re excited for the new one.”
