I just got a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse with an Infinity stereo system (the factory stock stereo that originally comes with the car). The CD player will accept a CD and show that it is playing, the radio will tune stations, and I guess the tape player works (i haven't tried it), but no sound comes out and the display doesn't show any volume adjustments when the dial is turned. I have tried taking out the old stereo and installing a new one, but that didn't work. I've looked all over for an amplifier but cannot find one, so I don't know if that's the problem. I also haven't had the speaker wiring checked out yet. I've also checked all fuses and they are working.
What might be the problem? I've already tried everything above, so I hope someone out there has more ideas. Thanks!
